I included a link to the Wiki piece about homeostasis, because that's the general life process involving stimulus and reaction. In discussions this past year, many pundits have loosely referred to our economy as sick. So I wonder, what does physiology have to teach us about our malaise and how to overcome it. The common (and bodily) wisdom for fighting a cold is to eat little, drink lots of fluids and rest. But what to do when the illness is more severe than a cold? Dare I say the D-word?
I think that our problem is indeed rooted in our over-consumption and a lack of resources world-wide to sustain that consumption.
